Marvin Sr. & Janet Kuehl

My husband and I were married for a half year when he was drafted into the Army. The October after our wedding our first son was born and my husband was there for the event. Our son Marv Jr. years later was a missionary in Indonesia with New Tribes. The year after he was born, my husband was sent to Korea. For me this was the hardest part of our whole marriage, but with faith and prayer I knew he would come back safe, which he did.

Since then, we’ve had 4 more children, Marlin, Wesley, Vicki, and Jolene. During this time my husband worked for Harnischfeger in Milwaukee for 40 years. Our lives were busy with our family as well as being foster parents.

We are now retired and living at home being taken care of mainly by our son Marv Jr. and our daughter Vicki. Our other children help when we are in need of them since they all live in another state or quite a few miles from our home.

Next to our Lord, our family is very precious to us. We’ve had our ins and outs during our marriage, but have always been able to talk them out. Without the Lord’s faithfulness and grace, these 71 years would not have been possible.

Marriage Advice: Praise the Lord. Keep the Lord in your life, at all times, in all things.
