Lowell and Carol Geithman met on a blind date on March 9, 1957. They attended a Youth for Christ rally then went out to eat with the friends who set them up. On August 7, 1958, they eloped, getting married at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They started their new life in Milwaukee, and have lived in the Milwaukee area their entire lives.

In 1964, they had their fifth child. The difference in age between the oldest and youngest is five years and ten days. All have five letters in their names: Jo Dee, Leigh, Glenn, Ammie, and Lu Ann. They also have twelve grandchildren (two of them are in heaven), and three great-grandchildren. Not bad for both being the only child of their parents.

Travel was an important thing for them to do with their children. Traveling by car, they and their children drove around the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Both were raised in godly homes and were taught dependence on God. This helped them get through many difficult times, including losing three of their parents by 1967, losing two grandchildren in 1999, and other trials throughout their marriage.
They were active in their church, teaching Sunday School, working with the Youth Group, and various other areas. They brought up their children in this type of environment.

Lowell and Carol still live in their own home and continue to travel. They have to travel to visit their families, as they are spread throughout six states: Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Connecticut, and North Carolina.

Marriage Advice: From time to time you need to be alone together. One day Lowell went to Carol and told her that he had someone to watch the children for the weekend since he was taking her away!

Keep God first, your spouse second, your children third, and everyone/everything else fourth.

Christian friends are important to keep you accountable.
