Study: Affirming Gender-Confusion Causes Harm

It's time for these evil practices to end for good

In a new study published in a Nordic medical journal, researchers found that adolescents who undergo medical interventions to change their gender are much more likely to experience a steep decline in mental health. For example, researchers found that any psychiatric disorders patients experienced before the sex-change surgeries and hormones, such as anxiety and depression, rose by 50% for boys and over 30% for girls. Researchers concluded that, “Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment.”

Medical professionals across the country have often claimed that the only way to help children overcome gender confusion is to affirm their false beliefs. But this study shows that this claim is a dangerous lie that only increases psychological distress. It’s time for the medical community in Wisconsin and across the country to stop these evil practices for good.
