Roger met Dorothy at a greenhouse in De Pere, WI in 1953, while working on his Dad’s nearby farm. They married one year later on July 26, 1954, in a little chapel in Sheboygan. They raised a family of four children on the farm until a farm accident forced Roger to quit farming due to a leg amputation. This is when he started his sales career. Roger and Dorothy decided to move the family to Wausau where they had their fifth child.

While in Wausau, Roger and Dorothy got involved in serving at Living Waters Bible Camp in beautiful Westby, WI (Dorothy worked in the kitchen while Roger was a teacher and craft leader). They started a nursing home ministry in their hometown and continue serving in this way today (50 years). Roger also serves as the Sunday School Superintendent at Bible Truth Chapel.

After retirement, Roger got into woodworking and still enjoys this hobby (specializing in intarsia art and walking canes). Roger and Dorothy enjoy spending time with their family, including 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. They emphasize the importance of spending regular time in God’s Word!

Marriage Advice: When you get into an argument, one of the couples should take a long walk (before you react). This explains why Roger has to replace the soles on his shoes every three months : )
