They raised 7 children. The 7th child was born with a rare skin disease. EB for short. Mom and dad faced this with love and compassion. Even though at the time there was not much known about this disease, they faced it and dealt with it with love and compassion. Mom fed my brother with a small cup instead of a bottle because drinking from a bottle would cause blisters. My dad worked tirelessly to support all of us. We didn’t always have everything we wanted, but we had everything we needed. I am so blessed to have such an example of a strong marriage. Mom will be 92 this year, and dad 91. Their memories are slipping a bit. They are living together now in assisted living, still kiss each other goodnight, and usually hold hands when falling asleep. They are known at their facility as the couple always holding hands. I am so blessed to have them as an example.

Marriage Advice: Never argue in front of the children and never go to bed angry with each other.
