David & LaVonne Butler
- Married Since 1959
We met as high school classmates at Ripon High School. We got engaged 2 weeks before David joined the Navy in the spring of 1957. David was in the Navy 2 years, and we got married 3 weeks after he returned on May 2, 1959 at the First Congregational Church in Ripon.
We are the longest married couple in our church. We slept at our home on the farm the Sunday after our wedding and have been there ever since.
David milked cows and had pigs for the next 32 years. After selling the cows, David worked in town until he retired. LaVonne was a housewife and raised six wonderful children. LaVonne retired from K-Mart after 15 years.
We enjoy spending time with our family.
