Appling: 2016 is a Critical Election Year

Wisconsin’s spring non-partisan elections are quickly approaching. Candidates for school boards, county boards, city councils, mayors, town and village boards, judges, and Wisconsin Supreme Court have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, to register to run for these offices.  Any primaries would be held on Tuesday, February 16. The general election, along with Wisconsin’s presidential preference primary is Tuesday, April 5.

WFA president Julaine Appling states, “2016 is a critical election year. The local offices we elect in the spring are vitally important, and qualified Christians need to consider running for them in their communities. Training is available to help candidates conduct effective campaigns. Regarding the presidential primary, we strongly urge citizens to stay engaged and to seriously prepare to cast a knowledgeable vote.”
