Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty recently joined a lawsuit, Wisconsin PTA v. Wisconsin State Assembly, on behalf of Wisconsin choice schools and parents. According to WILL’s press release the complaint in the case that WILL is opposing, “seeks to have the judiciary determine the level and distribution of funding for education in this State rather than leave those decisions to the Legislature and seeks to reduce or eliminate Wisconsin’s School Choice Programs.”
Wisconsin’s School Choice Programs have already been declared constitutional. This lawsuit is an attempt to take the power of being the decision-maker in a child’s education from parents and placing it into the hands of the state. However, parents, not the state, should have the right to direct their child’s education.
