WI Voters Support Eliminating the Income Tax

A recent survey of registered Wisconsin voters shows a plurality of voters – across partisan lines – support eliminating the income tax and that nearly six in ten think state taxes are too high. The poll shows 45% of Wisconsinites support eliminating the income tax while 40% oppose. Institute for Reforming Government says it is telling in a purple state that there is strong support for such transformational tax reform. GOP legislative leaders are proposing a flat income tax of 3.25%.

Why are we interested in the tax rate? Because we know high taxes make it harder for families to remain or become independent of government. Strong, independent families are the foundation of our communities, state, and nation. When they keep more of their money, they invest in their families which in turn strengthens the state.
