Valentine’s Day is a great day to highlight marriage and family, where love ought to be part of the glue that helps bind couples and families together.  Marriage and family as God designed them form the foundation for strong, free, and even prosperous societies. Married couples who grow in their love for one another over the years typically see their children follow their example in their own future relationships. These strong families make for strong communities, states, and nations.

Someone has said the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother, and vice versa. Kids seeing dad and mom exchange cards, flowers, or gifts and doing special things for each other on Valentine’s Day as expressions of their love for each other is powerful. It conveys security to the children and is a wonderful example for them as well.
