US House Passes Bill Protecting Title IX

The bill bases sports on genetics at birth.

Last week, the US House of Representatives passed a bill that makes it clear that when it comes to athletics under Title IX, sex must be based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth. All 219 Republicans voting that day, supported the bill, while all 203 Democrats voted against it. 5 of Wisconsin’s 6 Republican representatives not only voted yes on the bill, but also co-sponsored it: Tom Tiffany, Scott Fitzgerald, Glenn Grothman, Mike Gallagher, and Bryan Steil.

This bill directly counters the Biden Administration’s recent memo to schools threatening them if they don’t enact policies giving so-called “trans students” special rights and protections, including allowing biological males to play on women’s athletic teams and to change in women’s locker rooms. Now it’s the US Senate’s turn to do right by women.
