The Right to Pray in School Should be Protected

Students have the right to worship in schools.

At the recently held 74th National Prayer Breakfast, President Trump announced the Administration’s commitment to ensuring that students across the U.S feel comfortable praying or performing other religious practices in schools. Citing the constitution as his authority, the President declared that the U.S. Department of Education would present guidelines for schools across the country to ensure their policies are not violating the religious freedom granted to students in the Constitution.

This directive ensures that students in Wisconsin and across the country feel comfortable expressing their religious beliefs in school. Religious expression should be championed in our public schools, not discouraged. We hope these guidelines will be effective in protecting this freedom.
