A new study surveying women ages 41-45 found that nearly 40% of women who have had either a miscarriage or an abortion experience deep grief with "the worst of their negative feelings persist[ing] an average of twenty years after their loss." These findings also support other research conducted earlier this year that found that millions of women suffer from, "persistent emotional distress after abortion."
The loss of an unborn baby is tragic regardless of whether it is natural through a miscarriage or intentional through an abortion. Regarding abortion, these findings call into question the claim that abortion is simple, safe, and consequence-free.
