The Heritage Foundation recently released a special report on the state of marriage and family in the US. Researchers confirmed that strong families, who are a vital part of building and maintaining a strong self-governing nation, have been targeted by government policies and weakened over the last hundred years. To restore the family, the Foundation urges governing leaders to “stop penalizing married couples, help restore the American Dream, and actively support marriage and working families.”

For too long, popular culture and government policies have discouraged family formation. It’s time for both the state legislatures and Congress to prioritize and encourage marriage and family. The future of our country depends on building and maintaining strong family units.
