Earlier this month, President Trump signed an executive order that will allow the federal government to reclassify marijuana as a Schedule 3 drug. This reclassification lowers the legally recognized severity of the drug's effects and paves the way for the legalization of medical marijuana. Pro-family advocates have expressed concern over this decision since recent reports found that delta9-THC, the component of marijuana that causes the high, is linked to psychosis, anxiety, and other mental health disorders.

Research has proven time and again that marijuana wreaks havoc in the lives of individuals and families. Any purported "benefits" for tax purposes or medicinal are far outweighed by the negative impact marijuana causes. Deregulating marijuana is bad for our communities and our state.
