New Poll Shows Most WI Voters Oppose Online Sports Betting

Gambling in all forms causes unnecessary harm.

The state Assembly recently passed a bill that creates a pathway for legalizing online sports betting in Wisconsin. Marquette University Law School, however, released a new poll showing that most Wisconsin voters oppose the legislation. According to the school’s post on X, “64% oppose legalizing online sports betting in Wisconsin, while 34% are in favor. Opposition is bipartisan, with 61% of Republicans, 66% of Democrats, and 74% of Independents opposed.”

Gambling in all forms causes unnecessary harm to individuals, families, and Wisconsin. The bill can now be stopped in the state Senate. This poll shows that the people of Wisconsin don’t want or need online sports betting. We hope our state Senate agrees with the people.
