Milwaukee County Votes to Become “Sanctuary” for Transgender

The county voted 3-2 to approve the resolution.

On Monday a Milwaukee County committee voted three to two to approve a resolution designating Milwaukee County as a “sanctuary” for people identifying as transgender or non-binary. If the state were to pass a law that prohibits surgery or hormones for anyone seeking to transition, the resolution blatantly “urges the Milwaukee County Sheriff to make enforcement [of this law] their lowest priority.” The full county board still needs to vote on the proposal.

The resolution is pretty much exactly like what Dane County passed earlier this year. It’s wrong in concept and the county should be embarrassed to even consider it. Surgeries, hormones and puberty blockers used on healthy individuals are not health care; They certainly don’t affirm anyone’s gender. The truth is these harm; they don’t help.
