HHS Protects Minors by Withholding Federal Funds

HHS Protects Minors by Withholding Federal Funds

This decision is excellent news.

Last week, in a win for children and families, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that federal funds will no longer be allocated to states, hospitals, and manufacturers that provide transgender hormones and surgeries for minors. This decision comes on the heels of a recent study that found that affirming gender confusion causes significant harm to children. Leadership in HHS are hopeful that this decision is a step toward ensuring that gender-confused children receive real care from those who are willing to share the truth.

This decision is excellent news. Healthcare professionals who provide dangerous drugs and surgeries for minors should be held accountable. Children with gender dysphoria need compassionate and evidence-based care from those who will share the truth that affirms their biological gender.
