Harms of Social Media

With a new year right around the corner, considering some resolutions about time spent on social media might be in order. Hannah Britanico with crossmap blogs says it’s easy to start feeling bad about oneself if we compare ourselves to what others post online. She says the remedy is to foster genuine connections, focus on personal growth and achievements, engage in activities that bring joy and relaxation, invest time in spiritual enrichment, and contribute to the well-being of others.

Social media really can work a number on us if we’re not careful—especially on young people. Resolving that in the new year we will take steps to control our online time and that of other family members can bring huge personal and family benefits. Living more in the real world than in the virtual world can make for a great twenty twenty-four.
