Christmas is nearly here! Are your holiday traditions changing? While sometimes necessary, changing long-observed traditions can be hard. Writing for Christian post, Melissa Richeson and Dawn Carroll offer some practical advice. First, acknowledge that traditions will change as children are added and grow and as life itself happens. It’s even ok to mourn the lost traditions, but then begin establishing new ones, while also honoring, as possible, the, older traditions. Finally, focus on being together, the whole point of a holiday tradition.
This is an exciting time, but it also comes with some stress, and dealing with changing traditions, whatever the reason, can definitely be stressful. These authors also remind us all to remember that whatever is happening with our traditions, that Jesus needs to remain the center of all our celebrations and traditions.
