Americans Apprehensive About AI

New study shows Americans are unsure about AI

American Bible Society’s 2023 State of the Bible shows Americans are more fearful than hopeful when it comes to Artificial Intelligence. The research shows levels of uncertainty are high across the board, with 68% of the general public disagreeing that AI could "promote spiritual health" and 58% disagreeing that AI could "aid in moral reasoning." Regardless of scriptural engagement or biblical allegiance, everyone is uncertain about how a future with AI could look.

Americans are rightfully apprehensive about this new application of technology. Findings such as these are a clarion call for parents to take the initiative with their children to start talking about AI, its pros and cons, and helping the next generation develop not just understanding, but also a personal ethical framework for using and recognizing this new technological challenge.
