Age-Verification Legislation Sent to Gov. Evers’ Desk

Age-Verification Legislation Sent to Gov. Evers’ Desk

Governor Evers should sign it into law.

Last week, in a huge win for children and families, the Wisconsin Senate and Assembly passed legislation that will require pornographic websites to verify the age of their users. This bill received overwhelming bipartisan support. It would require pornographic websites to confirm the age of their users through an ID verification process. The legislation will now go to Governor Evers’ desk where he can sign it into law or veto it.

Our sister organization, Wisconsin Family Action, was the main lobbying champion behind the age verification bill. Children deserve protection from the dangers of the online world. We’re thankful the legislature agreed and we pray that Governor Evers will sign the bill to protect children from the dangers of pornography.
