As we celebrate fathers this month, we start with some reasons fathers are important. Elizabeth Jean writing for HowsBeingaDad.com says fathers are the unsung heroes of our society. She offers a number of ways dads are important, including providing emotional support for their children, serving as role models for success, providing protection, passing on wisdom, building self-esteem in their kids, cultivating lasting connections between family members, helping build stronger family units, and teaching kids how to resolve conflicts within a family.

Elizabeth Jean gives some great insights on the importance of fathers, but she’s missed the most important truth. In God’s grand and good plan, fathers provide spiritual guidance, which is the  foundation of building strong and godly families generationally. In a very real sense, godly fathers are the key to strong and good societies.
