China’s Birth Rate Plummets

China's birth rate plummetes.

Media outlets report that China's birth rate plummeted for a fifth consecutive year to hit a new record low in 2021, despite government efforts to encourage couples to have more children in the face of a looming demographic crisis. The world's most populous country recorded 10.62 million births last year, or just 7.5 births per 1000 people, marking the lowest level since the founding of Communist China in 1949. China is now asking single women expecting babies not to abort them.

China’s long-held one-child policy has reaped consequences. Part of the reason for this drop in births is a decrease in the number of women of child-bearing age. That’s a direct result of the abortions of baby girls China encouraged for years when this policy was in effect. Mankind may mess with God’s good plan, but mankind has no control over the consequences.
