When did you last reflect on the truth that government is God’s idea? Scripture teaches that government was instituted by God in Genesis 9:6. In the New Testament, Paul asserts that governmental authority is ordained by God, and he identifies the legitimate functions of government, namely to promote what is good and to punish evil-doers (Rom 13:1-7, I Peter 2:13-17). God cares enough about our leaders to command us to pray for them (I Tim. 2:1-4). Doesn’t it make sense for us to also engage in choosing them?
A right to abortion in our state constitution? Really? Since when, and if so, then where? Those are questions people all across Wisconsin should be asking given the lawsuits that have been filed with our state Supreme Court. Last month through an unprecedented leak, we learned that the high court will hear one of these cases.
Untold millions of US coins and every piece of paper money bears the motto, “In God We Trust.” Did the founders of this great country really trust in God? We don’t have to look much beyond the words of the Declaration of Independence for an answer.
Fathers play a pivotal role in families. Their leadership—or lack of it—impacts their family and society for generations. Dads matter. Scripture and secular research support this. However, we don’t really need the research. We can see with our own eyes the devastating impact that fatherlessness has on children and teens. What is a common denominator in the lives of the vast majority of troubled youth? The absence of a father or the lack of his involvement.
Our mission is to advance Judeo-Christian principles and values in Wisconsin by strengthening, preserving, and promoting marriage, family, life and liberty.
