Before you go to the polls on Tuesday, November 8, or if you are voting early/absentee voting, it’s important to know what the party platforms are so you can see how they align with your core values.

Q. What is a “political platform?”

A.  A political platform is a formal set of principal goals which are supported by a political party or individual candidate, in order to appeal to the general public, for the ultimate purpose of garnering the general public’s support and votes about complicated topics or issues.

Q. Why is it important for me to compare the party platforms before I vote?

A. Because each platform is a product that is a reliable statement of what grassroots voters care about.
