Wisconsin Family Council (WFC) is constantly re-evaluating the legislative and cultural scene in Wisconsin and the nation. Although WFC's values and principles do not change, the issues and approaches often do. With this outlook, the ministry believes it can choose its goals wisely and achieve them.
The goals for WFC can be placed into four categories - Legislative, Media, Publications, and Training.
Legislative Goals
Working with the legislature is not always easy. Success often depends on which party has control of the legislature and who maintains leadership positions. With the current split of power in the Wisconsin legislature, victories may be difficult to obtain. However, WFC is committed to trying and has established the following as viable goals for this year.
- Working with other pro-life groups to pass legislation ban all human cloning in Wisconsin
- Opposing any attempt to legalize physician-assisted suicide.
- Working to pass legislation that defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.
- Promoting legislation that requires parental consent before intrusive surveys are given to children, before in-school health exams are given, and before contraceptive devices are supplied to children.
Media Goals
- Improve the quality of WFC's radio commentary and expand the number of radio stations that broadcast it
- Create public service announcements, highlighting such ideas as the importance of families
- Issue more press releases.
Publication Goals
- Distribute copies of the Family Research Council's Toward a Culture of Life.
- Publish a pamphlet helping individuals understand the push to affirm homosexuality in some of Wisconsin's public schools.
- Produce a pamphlet explaining Wisconsin's laws on corporal discipline.
Training Goals
- Develop a lesson for Sunday School or a Wednesday night church service, teaching the importance of marriage in our culture.
- Develop workshops and seminars to encourage and show Christians how to be salt and light in their state and community.
