...Something to consider before participating in the March of Dimes
According to the Wisconsin March of Dimes’ website, the annual Wisconsin March of Dimes (MOD) will be taking place statewide every weekend until May 17. Although touted as a highly respectable organization focus on detecting and treating defects in pre-born babies, MOD actually has a lesser-known background in abortions of babies with birth defects and/or Down Syndrome. The Michael Fund, the alternative to MOD, offers some insight into the connection between MOD and eugenics. More…
…Governor Doyle issues National Day of Prayer proclamation but does not publish it
According to Donna O’Connell, Constituent Services – Office of Governor Jim Doyle, the Gov. did issue a proclamation for the 2008 Day of Prayer. However, the proclamation is not published anywhere public on any of the official Wisconsin web sites. O’Connell told Wisconsin Family Council that Doyle’s administration “is not promoting the event” recognized and observed in every state of the Union and by the President of the United States. The National Day of Prayer website contains a link to the official Wisconsin proclamation.
… Tomah School District agrees to allow religious depictions in art class
Following a hearing on Thursday, May 1, in the federal court case regarding the Tomah incident involving a student’s landscape drawing, the Tomah School district changed its ten-year-old policy. The student, listed as A.P. in the lawsuit, was challenging the district’s policy banning religious depictions from student artwork, along with violence, blood and sexual depictions. Tomah students will now be able to include religious depictions in their artwork. More…
…Freedom From Religion Foundation goes after Rio School District’s rental policy for non-profit organizations
The Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a complaint last week against the Rio School District, claiming that the district’s policy to allow Child Evangelism Fellowship to use their facilities rent-free violates the Wisconsin Constitution. The Rio School District claims that it is board policy to allow all local non-profits (including organizations such as the Boy Scouts) to use district facilities rent free. More…
…Tickets “for the cure” or “for the cause”?
The Milwaukee Brewers are selling 4-packs of tickets “4 the cure,” in a partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Milwaukee Affiliate. As part of the deal, Komen’s Milwaukee Affiliate gets 25% of the sales of the 4-packs. The Milwaukee Komen Affiliate’s website indicates that they have given and continue to give grants to Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. A substantial body of research indicates that abortion significantly increases the risk of breast cancer. Click here for WFC’s article on the link between abortion and breast cancer. Contact the Brewers management to let them know what you think about the partnership. More…

…Black pastors protest Planned Parenthood eugenics
Last week, Students for Life organized a group of African-American pastors and pro-life activists to protest the federal funding of Planned Parenthood. The event was held outside a Washington, D.C., Planned Parenthood clinic. The protest comes on the heals of the latest revelation of Planned Parenthood’s eugenics mindset. More…
…American Psychiatric Association symposium on homosexuality
The APA Annual Meeting 2008 will include a “balanced discussion” on homosexuality between two pro-homosexual speakers and two conservative speakers, including Focus on the Family board member, Rev. Albert Mohler. The symposium is unprecedented in the history of the APA, which opposes as an association any “reparative” or “conversion” therapy that treats homosexuality as a mental disorder and has held since 1973 that homosexuality is not a diagnosable mental disorder. More…
…Day of Silence rather noisy at one Washington school
A grand total of 638 of the 1,410 students at Mt. Si High School in Redmond, Washington, boycotted school last Friday in protest of the pro-homosexual Day of Silence. Pastor Ken Hutcherson led about 100 people in a protest outside the high school. Earlier this year, Pastor Hutcherson was invited by the Mt. Si High School principal to speak at an event commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and was verbally harassed during his speech by teachers and students in the audience. More…
…Students threatened by school for wearing pro-life shirts
School administrators were not happy when ten students from the Anthony Wayne School in Ohio wore pro-life t-shirts to school to mark the Roe v. Wade anniversary on April 21. The students were told to take off their shirts, turn them inside-out or face a two-day suspension. When the high school students refused to comply, they were told they wouldn’t be able to take part in their senior activities, including their graduation walk. More…

…Canadian Christian ministry hit hard
A Canadian Christian ministry for the disabled is being fined $23,000 for terminating the employment of a woman who signed onto the ministry’s policy forbidding homosexual relationships and then entered into a homosexual relationship. The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal issued the decision, which included a mandate for pro-homosexual training for ministry employees. More…
…Animal rights in Switzerland
Switzerland , famous for its chocolate, banks and neutrality policy, issued a new policy last week
giving significant protection to certain animals, with a special emphasis on dogs. The nation, which liberalized abortion laws in 2002
and has a constitutional right to assisted suicide for the mentally ill, is also considering legislation regarding “plant dignity.”
